Want to press pause and rest in the space? Sometimes a short break can revitalise our energy and reconnect us with our true selves. This realigning gives us the clarity to return to daily life with resilience and new tools to use.
Our retreats are experiential events that take many different forms – from one-day local mini-breaks to weekend regional getaways or even international retreats.
Retreats are as dynamic or as quiet as you like. We have a range of activities from reflective personal practices to creative workshops, yoga classes, meditation groups and mindful eating experiences. We recommend a post-retreat one on one debriefing with one of our team which we offer at a retreat discounted rate.
Watch this space for our upcoming retreats! Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on facebook to make sure that you don’t miss out on future retreats.
One Day Retreats:
If getting away for a full weekend is tough, or if you would like to do both, come join us on the 28th March 2020 from 9am – 5pm for a full day retreat.
Trauma, Body Work & Healing
On Saturday March 28th we will be holding a restful retreat day in the glorious peaceful spaciousness of Kirsty’s lovely home in Nad al Sheba 2, Dubai. Beginning at 9am and finishing at 5pm, we will enjoy some extended learning and focus on trauma, bodywork & healing; sharing with each other, practicing awareness and enjoying some silent time.
For anyone feeling tender or overwhelmed in their daily life, this retreat day is a warm invitation to tend to the overwhelm that saps our vitality.
Rumination, anxiety, and stress can all be symptoms of long-ago trauma experiences.
Mindfulness and trauma hold hands. Trauma is when something occurs out of our control that is too much, too big, and too overwhelming for our system to manage. When difficulties arise, our nervous system brilliantly takes over with fight, flight or freeze which are all survival modes. Once our systems are in survival mode, it is virtually impossible to be creative, to be present or to be in the moment.
Mindfulness practice is a pathway back into our bodies, a pathway that tends to our trauma, allows us space to be present in our experience, and signals to our nervous system that we are safe.
This retreat day is grounded in science and experiential practice, weaving embodied healing work and mindfulness tools to help with emotional overwhelm.
Investment: AED800 for the full day retreat including all resources
We have just thoroughly enjoyed our February 2020 retreat and look forward to sharing our next dates soon!
“I had the privilege of attending the Mindful ME retreat held at XVA. I needed some peace and calm and somehow to re-set mind, soul and body; I wasn’t disappointed. The setting for the retreat was a haven of beauty and tranquillity, like a hidden oasis in the middle of a bustling city, especially at the end of a long scorching summer. From the welcome to the goodbye, I felt home surrounded by wonderful kind attentive people, sharing experiences, combining mindful meditation, eating, yoga, qigong, silence, journaling and so much more, as well as listening to words of wisdom that one often needs to revisit. I enjoyed this special time out of time, a quiet mindful time. It was also great to have this opportunity right at your doorstep in Dubai.
Thanks to all of the Mindful ME team for their time and presence.” – Beatrice. XVA Dubai Retreat, September 2017
“I can’t thank you and the team enough for the fantastic event. My life is frantic at the best of times and what with trying to balance work and family I often feel spiritually wrung out. The weekend completely re-set my mind and body and what an incredible group of people I met!” – Kelly, XVA Dubai Retreat, September 2017
“The weekend retreat was a wonderful experience. Meticulously prepared, it nourished the soul and the body. It allowed me some time away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. The balance of wonderful food and physical relief was intertwined with spiritual growth opportunities. A privilege to attend. Thanks everyone who created this.” – Colm, XVA Dubai Retreat, September 2017
“thank you for a lovely weekend – it really was a very interesting and insightful experience Great group of people and I am using the skills we learnt day to day and it has really been eye opening.” – Rebecca, XVA Dubai Retreat, September 2017
“I enjoyed it so much and can still feel changes in me somehow like an inner constant strength which has ‘carried’ me through the whole next week.” – Sabrina, XVA Dubai Retreat, September 2017
“I had the pleasure of attending the first Mindful ME retreat held in April. I was searching for some peace and calm, keeping myself open to whatever came and I wasn’t disappointed. The setting for the retreat was beautiful, nestled in the Al Fahidi area – it was a haven of peace and tranquility; from the rooms to the beautiful food everything was just perfect and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Helen and Cindy put together a wondefrul program combining mindful eating, yoga, crafts, journaling, meditation and so much more. I felt the time was divided so well, we enjoyed quiet time and time making new friends sharing experiences and enjoying listening to Helen’s wisdom on Mindfulness. I came away with a new sense of self, more clarity and definitely much calmer. Thank you to all of the Mindful ME team for their hard work. I will never forget the experience and I look forward to attending more retreats in the near future.” – Kirsty, XVA Dubai Retreat, April 2017
“Thank you for the incredible gifts that you gave me during the weekend. I had so many ‘aha’ moments, so many times when my mind and my heart opened, and the entire time I felt enveloped in love and peace. Truly the most extraordinary experience. I only have to close my eyes, to breathe, and I am on the roof, with love and light washing over me. I cannot thank you enough for this. You are all wonderful, clever, brilliant, funny and just plain lovely people.” – Kelly, XVA Rituals of Self Care Retreat, February 2018
“A massive thank you, to all of you for an amazing weekend retreat! You all clearly put so much thought, effort hard work and organisation into the weekend. All the little touches that you included, hot water bottle, the seeds to be planted, aromatherapy spray, all of these things mean so much and are very gratefully received. When sitting on the rooftop on Saturday afternoon, I felt so at peace, it truly was a lovely experience. As was the chanting when we broke the silence, such an incredibly moving experience when we were all chanting, I think we all felt that. I will message the Hotel separately to thank them for all their efforts. It’s a little gem, so glad you chose it! I enjoyed all of it, truly inspiring!” – Linda, XVA Rituals of Self-Care Retreat, February 2018
